Jarred Anderes

Jarred E. Anderes was raised outside of Gypsum and graduated from Southeast of Saline High School. While attending Kansas State University, he worked for a funeral home in Manhattan and found that he loved all aspects of the funeral business. He transferred to Kansas City Kansas Community College and received an associate degree in Mortuary Science in 2000.


On January 1, 2013, Jarred and his wife Jenny, purchased the Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home from Phil Pfeifley and the name changed to Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home to reflect the new ownership. On January 1, 2022, they purchased the Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville from Rod Christie and that funeral home name changed to Christie-Anderes Funeral Home.


Jarred’s passion is helping families navigate through a difficult time in their life and doing everything possible to make it easier for them. Jarred and Jenny have two children, Ethan and Emma, who keep their lives busy outside of work.


He is active in the community with the Riley Presbyterian Church, Leonardville Lions Club, Leonardville Golf Course, and the City of Riley Planning Board.  Professionally he is a member of the Kansas Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association.


Rod Christie

Rod Christie joined the Marine Corps just out of high school. After completing his enlistment, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas. After working for many years in banking, he felt a call to the funeral business. Earning his associate degree in Mortuary Science from Kansas City Kansas Community College, Rod became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1997. Rod brought his family to Waterville in 1997 and began his career working for Roger Terry at Terry Chapel and Funeral Home. In 2007, he purchased the funeral home renaming it Terry-Christie Funeral Home.


Rod’s wife, Melinda, works as a CPA for Kickheafer and Buessing, PA in Marysville. They have three children, CJ and his wife Heather, Becca and Rachel, as well as two grandchildren. Rod is a member of New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Kansas Funeral Directors Association, Waterville Lions Club and both the Blue Rapids and Waterville Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as the director of the Riverside Cemetery Association and the Waterville Housing Authority Board of Directors.


Jenny Anderes

Jenny Anderes has been at Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home since 2015. She is originally from Frankfort and graduated from Frankfort High School and then Kansas State University with a degree in Business Administration. She attained her Assistant Funeral Director License in 2021. Jenny enjoys helping with monument design, tribute videos and other funeral related tasks. 


When not at work, she enjoys spending time with their children, Ethan and Emma, and volunteering in the community by helping with Riley PRIDE, Leonardville Golf Course, Riley City Library Board and Riley Presbyterian Church.
